Have you ever wondered what Superman and Marilyn Monroe might have in common? This spirited true adventure shows how the birth of the comic book and the magic of movies intersected with the lives of WWII Jewish refugees and real-life heroes. The spark for these stories is Jules Schulback, grandfather of one of the authors, who snapped one of the century’s most iconic photographs of Marilyn Monroe.

Helene Stapinski is the bestselling author of three memoirs. She writes regularly for The New York Times and teaches at NYU. Bonnie Siegler is creative director of award-winning graphic design studio Eight and a Half. She has written two books and taught design at Yale.
